This gallery is a sampling of some of the photos I've taken over the last 3 months. It is a thankyou for all the love and support I get from so many wonderful people around the world.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SPRING '09 include a lot of Dance – Santa Barbara Dance Theater's new "Romeo & Juliet" was lively, snappy and even fun! The April installment of State Street Ballet's "Evenings" featured exciting new choreography by dancers of the company in an informal setting at their new studios; UCSB's "Dance Dammit" also featured arresting new choreography, by students; Ballet Preljocaj presented one of the strangest shows I've seen; and Curtis Studio of Dance's 36th annual show was great fun! ____On the theater front – Maurie Lord's Genesis West presented "La Terrasse," a wonderfully warped journey into the surreal by Jean-Claude Carriere, screenwriter of "Belle du Jour," "Discrete Charm of the Bougeoisie," "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" and "Valmont." Other theatrical treats were provided by UCSB's Dept. of Theater & Dance with a premiere of "La Niñera" by Barbara Lebow and 2 wonderful new plays written & directed by students, and Ensemble Theatre's scathing and funny production of "The Scene." Cirque Eloize's "Nebbia" was an atmospheric triumph of surreal vaudeville and acrobatics._____For music, there was an abundance of aural delights – Shivkumar Sharma and Zakir Hussein entranced and Sonny Rollins cooked and swung @ UCSB; Redd Volkaert and Santa Barbara's own Seymour Duncan traded searing Telecaster licks at Sings Like Hell; the Dereck Trucks Band rocked, King Sunny Ade ju-ju'd, and both shows shook the walls of the Lobero in a most "gotta move your body" way! _____Classically, things were a little less raucous – CAMA brought the Australian Chamber Orchestra which gave new energy to Baroque; Camerata Pacifica continued to present superb chamber music; Santa Barbar Choral Society gave a stellar performance of Verdi's "Requiem" and in June I started my 13th season at the Music Academy shooting another round of truly gifted and enthusiastic "fellows" from around the world as they dig into another summer of fine and exuberantly palyed music.

Photos are arranged chronologically. Check back again for the latest in October, January and April. Hope you enjoy it!
